A man was left with serious injuries after a tree fell on two vans and trapped and wounded him, as Storm Eunice tore its way through the South of England.
Emergency services attended the scene that took place around 2:25pm on Friday, February 18 on Main Avenue in Moor Park.
Several different vehicles were called out including police, fire engines from both Watford and Garston stations, two land ambulances and an air ambulance as well. The road was closed whilst they dealt with the situation.
Spokespeople for the various attendees were able to confirm to Northwood & Ruislip News that firefighters were eventually able to release the injured man from his position and left him in the care of the ambulance service, who used one of the land vehicles to transport him to St Mary’s Hospital in London.
His current status is unknown, but it is known that his injuries were severe.
The tree was most likely blown down as a result of the ferocity of Storm Eunice, which hit the southern part of Great Britain hard on that Friday, with the entire south being placed under a rare red weather warning by the Met Office.
Many people experienced winds with speeds of more than 80 miles per hour, while others experienced falling trees, torn-off roofs and blown away garden items.
