It has been revealed that the Abbots Langley Tough Ten, a popular local running event, is being organised by only three people.
The event has become a familiar part of life in the village, offering a variety of races including a parkrun, 3k, 5k, and 10k.
Whilst it is not going anywhere and will return this year on Sunday, October 5, more people are needed to help with running the event.
Fiona Packman, chair of the organising committee, said: “Inevitably, those involved with the race have changed over the course of time. Sadly, in recent months, a number of experienced and valued committee members have retired after many years of highly valued service. Unfortunately, the jobs that these individuals carried out still need to be done.”
The tasks do not require a level of knowledge in running or athletics in general. All the group ask for is a willingness to “muck in”. They highlighted that there aren’t endless meetings, documents to read or mountains of paperwork.
