When the first whistle blew in 1886, a legacy began at Kings Langley Football Club (KLFC) that is still bringing people together 140 years later.
This year, the club is celebrating its anniversary by uncovering stories from its past, including recognising the players who made the most appearances for the club. Leading this is Trevor Tharp, who featured 513 times for KLFC between 1980 and 1997, spanning an impressive 17 years.
This milestone provides an opportunity to reflect on the generations of players, volunteers, and supporters who have shaped the club’s journey.
To mark the landmark year, a range of celebrations will take place throughout 2026, including special matchdays, commemorative content and events bringing together supporters past and present.
KLFC said: “From its earliest days to the modern era, Kings Langley FC has always been about more than football. It has been a focal point of the village, where friendships are formed, memories are made and community spirit thrives.”
After 140 years, the story of Kings Langley FC is far from finished. You can find out more information at www.kingslangleyfc.co.uk
