Three Rivers residents enjoy a picture-perfect autumn

Published on: 10th December 2018   |   By: Jason Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Residents of Three Rivers were getting creative in the great outdoors during November, taking photographs in some of the beautiful green spaces the area has to offer.

Organised by the Council’s Leisure Team, the ‘Picture This..!’ walks are led by professional photographer Pete Stevens and are supported by park rangers and friends/volunteers, who have expertise in the locations and wildlife.

Councillor Chris Lloyd, lead member for leisure, said: “The walks are suitable for people of all ages and abilities; all you need to take part is a smartphone or camera and your imagination. Do come and join us and be as creative as you want.”

The walks take place during the school holidays all year round and always prove to be popular!

Nanditha Suryanarayana, whose picture is above, and Robbie Brown impressed Pete and the supporting staff with their photographs taken in Leavesden Country Park and Chorleywood House Grounds, awarding them the ‘best snap’ prizes of framed prints.

An online gallery of everyone’s photos has also been created for viewing, showcasing the skills and creativity of those who took part.

One resident said: “Thank you for a great experience taking part in the photography walk that you ran. Not only did I pick up some wonderful tips but I enjoyed the walk immensely, and both the photographer and the park warden were helpful and friendly.”
