THINK ABOUT: Watford Business Festival kicks off with something for everyone

The Watford Business Festival, which is being run by the Watford Chamber of Conscience between September 30 and October 7, plans on giving you an opportunity to think about how the Chamber can help you and your company network, innovate and achieve sustainable growth.

To help with your thinking, the festival has been designed to give you the opportunity to experience, at first hand, how Watford Chamber of Commerce works and why membership matters.

A spokesperson said: “It would be great if you could join us at one or more of the events, each one is free, guaranteed to be stimulating and rewarding. 

“It’s easy to find out more and register, and you can do so for as many as you wish.”

The first event will be on Friday, October 2 at 12pm, and it’s called Think About – Procure to Progress with HS2, which discusses the impact that the HS2 project will have, and the opportunities that may come for businesses as a result.

The session will give an overview of where HS2 is with the project and talk through how procurement and the supply chain works.

Next up, on Monday, October 5 at 10am is Think About – Business Bounce Back with Mercer & Hole. This will be a webinar where financial advice will be provided to help businesses to devise a clear strategy to help navigate through these challenging times. 

The following day, on Tuesday, October 6 at 10:30am will be Think About – The Future of Business Communications which will give advice on working from home, which many have had to take up during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The one-hour workshop, in partnership with Watford Chamber member PSG Networks and Ring Central, who will be able to help turn employees into happy, productive assets for your business.

Later that evening at 6pm, Think About – Watford’s Digicluster allows the leading digital meetup for agency owners in Hertfordshire, Digi-Cluster, will be partnering with the Chamber.

You are invited to join them for a virtual evening of great speakers and agency-focussed networking.

It’s an opportunity to network with some of the best brains in the industry.

The final day of the festival (Wednesday, October 7) starts with Think About – Kick Starting your Business at 12pm.

Your business can join in and help a young person gain some invaluable work experience by offering them a work placement at your company.

The kickstart scheme is a £2bn fund launched by the government to pay for six-month work placements for 16-24-year-olds.

An online workshop allows you to find out more about the schemes and which one is right for you.

The closing event is later that afternoon at 4pm called Think About – Positive Intelligence with Shirzad Chamine.

This Is a talk by the renowned Shirzad Chamine as the festival’s keynote speaker.

The talk is designed to help you understand just how better understanding your mind results in better business. Shirzad is chairman of CTI, the largest coach-training organisation in the world.
