A strike from Troy Deeney led the Golden Boys to victory against the Magpies yesterday (January 9). The only goal goal of the game, scored in the 44th minute, sent Watford into the Fourth Round of the FA cup. Front-man Obbi Oulare made his debut for Watford during the game against the Magpies. Oulare was delighted to finally take to the Vicarage Road surface and show what he can do. He told the Watford Weekend Post-Match Review on Hornets PlayerHD: “I’m just really happy to make my debut, and I’m happy that we won and are through to the next round. “It wasn’t easy after four months of not really playing. I was tired and had to adapt to the system, new tactics and of course to my team-mates.” Oulare, who signed for the Hornets in the summer from Club Brugge, played 45 minutes at Vicarage Road as Quique Sanchez Flores made changes. Sebastian Prödl replacing Miguel Britos in the only alteration to the back four. Adlène Guedioura replaced Étienne Capoue in central midfield, with the Algerian making his first start for the Golden Boys since re-joining on a permanent basis in the summer. Watford will welcome Newcastle to Vicarage Road in a fortnight’s time, this time in the Premier League.
