TEAMWORK: Community helps Kings Langley Cricket Club raise £20,000 for new nets

The chairman of Kings Langley Cricket Club (KLCC) thanked the community for helping the club raise £20,000 for the refurbishment of their nets.

The club reached the target on their Crowdfunder in just 70 days, a feat which chairman Tom Templeton said was a “major achievement”.

Addressing those who donated, which included the Abbots Langley tough ten Committee, he said: “Thank you all! At times, the target has seemed a long way away.

“For a village club to raise that sort of money is a major achievement and it is all down to the generosity of you guys.

“The new nets will make a huge difference to all the players at the club, from our youngest juniors to our oldest players.

“The ability to practice in a facility that is not only safe, but state of the art, will enable us to develop cricket in the area for years to come.

“We hope that you will all come to the club over the summer, enjoy a drink in the bar and see the cricketers in action. Thank you all so very much.”
