A schoolboy from Kings Langley is helping to keep dogs across the village fed after launching a dog-friendly doughnut company.
Toby Gallagher, a Year 10 pupil at Kings Langley School, launched Doggo Doughnuts in a bid to help raise £4,500 towards a volunteering trip to Borneo with Camps International.
Toby and other volunteers will work with locals on environmental, housing and community projects.
The doughnuts, which are available to be collected or delivered, contain all natural ingredients and are baked by Toby himself.
Toby said when he first came up with the idea, he wasn’t aware of how much work would be involved, but is happy with how well it’s going.
He said: “I had to come up with a recipe, which took quite a few disasters to get right, then there was packaging, pricing and building a website. Then working out how I could market it. And that’s before having to manage orders, emails and baking!
“I have to raise £4,500, which is a scarily big number. The Kings Langley community has been really supportive and I hope I’ve convinced them to become loyal Doggo Doughnuts customers.”
Speaking to KINGSnews, Toby’s mum Gayle said they have had a great response from the community.
She said: “We’ve only been going for about a week and have been baking morning, noon and night.
“We are very proud. Toby comes home from school, does his homework and then he gets straight to baking.”
The doughnuts cost £3.50 for a box of four. To order, visit www.doggodoughnuts.co.uk
