Residents over 50 are being encouraged to sign up to a dance class at the Abbots Langley Community Centre.
Community dance artist Laura Horn has just opened a new group at the centre on Tuesdays at 1pm for the over 50s.
It’s a great opportunity to experience the benefit of movement, creativity and friendship.
Creative dance combines movement with artistic expression and is a powerful imaginative tool that is used to explore and form a positive self-image, building a healthy self-esteem.
Laura’s class combines fun routines to your favourite music with creative movement tasks, which enables participants to work to their own abilities.
It develops coordination, balance, stamina, body control and overall strength. And most of all, according to the dance artist, it is incredibly fun.
Working in groups and often featuring travelling sequences, this class promotes spatial awareness, cooperation and collaboration along with thinking of new ideas and exploring others’ ideas.
For more information, contact Laura at laurajanehorn@gmail.com or just pop along to the community centre on a Tuesday at 1pm. £5 per session.
