Everyone knows the importance of a good night’s sleep and the message was reinforced to a students at a Pinner secondary school last month when a sleep expert paid them a visit.
Independent sleep expert Dr Neil Stanley spent a day at Nower Hill High School to spread the message about the importance of sleep to staff and pupils and how important it is to physical and mental health.
In his 36 year involvement in sleep research, Dr Stanley has published 38 peer review papers on various aspects of sleep research as well as spending most of his time travelling the UK and abroad lecturing to healthcare professionals, companies and members of the public.
Dr Neil Stanley has conducted many lectures in his career such as “The Heart and Sleep” and “The Importance of Sleep for Schools”, receiving a huge amount of positive feedback.
Students said Dr Stanley’s visit to Nower Hill promoted fascinating and informative discussions about the importance of sleep and how sleep can have a beneficial impact on their future studies, especially those who are up against the daunting prospect of final examinations.
