Former England star Joe Cole made an exciting appearance for Belstone FC following the club’s return to football.
With the Herts Senior County League null and void for the season, Belstone’s Men’s Senior team have been playing in a mini cup tournament.
In their first game on Saturday, April 10, they beat Harefield United Reserves 2-1 away.
Making his debut for Watling Street-based side was ex-West Ham, Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole, who was capped 56 times by the England national team.
All Belstone FC teams initially returned to competitive action on April 3 following the government’s ‘green light’ on the return to organised outdoor sports.
The Senior Men’s team started with a couple of friendlies, including one against Belstone Vets, which saw the return of some of the club’s great players.
In a hard-fought match, the current team came out on top winning 4-2.
In terms of Belstone’s youth teams, there have been some great return-to-action wins for the U13 Ladies, beating Stevenage Starlets 6-1, and the U16 Boy’s, beating Borehamwood 2-1.
There were also impressive first-game-back wins for the U13’s U12’s U11’s, U9’s and U8’s boys.
