Rayners Lane Taekwon-do Academy are celebrating their success at the LTSi English Opens on Sunday, October 1, with every participant from the team taking home a medal.
In the under 12s class, Shanaya won silver, Areeb won bronze, and Arjun won gold in their respective sparring and pattern events. Yousif won gold in sparring, and Tylden won a gold in special technique. The five also won silver in the team pattern events.
In the teens/adult events section, Jack won gold in sparring and Gourav a bronze in sparring. Then in team patterns, Ojas, Nick, Diloshan, Jack and Gourav each gained a bronze medal.
In the black belt, Siddharth won silver in sparring; Nick won gold in sparring and gold in special technique; Jorja won bronze in patterns, silver in sparring and gold in special technique; and Mr Gautam won gold in sparring.
Chief instructor Stuart said: “As a very inexperienced squad, they did exceptionally well and I am very proud of them and what they have achieved.
“Not only did every student win a medal, they came second overall of about 50 other schools.”
