The owner of a café in Pinner has issued a stark warning after witnessing a young boy being hit by a car.
The incident occurred when a local boy was crossing the road on his bike at the junction of Oak Grove and Elm Avenue earlier this year.
Hovig, of TAG Drinks in Pinner, witnessed the incident and has now spoken out about his experience.
He said: “I was driving by at the time and stopped to help give first aid, alongside a couple of other residents and the ambulance crew who were called. He was so unbelievably lucky he didn’t have worse head injuries considering the force of both the impact of the car and him landing on the road.
“Yesterday, the super brave and amazing [child] came into TAG to redeem a voucher I’d given his family to enjoy a treat when he’s out of hospital – I didn’t expect him to come in on his first day out!
“He’s doing super well, has rods and screws in his leg, and is sporting a facial scar that no doubt will be a reminder to not only wear a helmet and be careful when crossing the road, but to also act as a reminder for how lucky and fortunate he was that it wasn’t any worse.
“This is what makes me love what I do – it’s all part of community, it’s all part of looking out for each other, and it’s all to make the world a better place.”
Hovig also asked for anyone who may know the local doctor, who stopped to help, to reach out as the family would like to thank him.
