Wealdstone edge to a 1-0 victory against Chippenham Town at The Vale on Tuesday evening to continue their strong start to the season.
A first half header from Billy Clifford was enough to separate the two sides in the fourth game of the season.
The Stones opened the deadlock within five minutes as Danny Green’s cross from the right found Clifford free at the back-post.
Clifford produced a beautiful diving header to put Wealdstone ahead and the Stones kept the pressure on but were unable to double their advantage before the break.
Connor Smith looked to open his goal account for the new season on a few occasions, notably hitting the post with a volley in the first half.
