Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) has responded to concerns from Croxleynews readers about the future of Croxley Green Library after it was not mentioned in proposals for the former Red Cross Centre.
Recently revealed plans for the centre include a new parish council office and community space on the ground floor, with up to eight flats on the first and second floors.
However, no mention of the library was made in the plans.
One reader said: “The redevelopment makes no mention of the public library as to its future use. I can’t be alone and wonder whether there is something being unsaid.”
TRDC has now allayed these concerns, confirming that residents will still be able to use the library.
Councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst, Leader of TRDC, said: “The building’s proximity to the library would provide residents and visitors with an excellent opportunity to visit both community facilities within a few steps of each other.
“The proposals are still subject to planning permission.”
