Five-year-old Noah Collins is getting closer to his dream of being able to walk after a successful operation this year. Noah, a pupil at York Mead Primary School, was born with Cerebral Palsy and underwent a Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery which reduced tight muscle tone to help him walk. Dave and Jeanette Collins, Noah’s parents added: “The trip could not have gone better and the way that Noah was both pre and post op exceeded what we could have wished for, he was both relaxed and in good spirits throughout his stay in hospital.” Dr Park, Noah’s Surgeon, managed to do everything he had hoped to do and as a result has managed to eliminate 100 per cent of the spastic tone in Noah’s legs. The community helped raise more than £90,000 to cover life-changing surgery; The Help Noah Walk campaign raised enough money, in a record time of six months, to cover the cost of the operation, travel, aftercare and physiotherapy five times a week. The family would like to thank everyone who has been involved with the Help Noah Walk campaign. Read more in the next edition of My Croxley News.
