Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has been nominated for the Player of the Month award for January after The Hornet’s good form continued from December.
The Frenchman scored two goals, including the winning goal at home to Wolves and the opening goal in a convincing victory away at fellow relegation battlers Bournemouth.
This is the second month in a row that a Watford player has been nominated for the award, with Ben Foster being one of the eight nominees last month.
Manager Nigel Pearson has also been nominated for the second month in a row in a month that saw The Hornets briefly move out of the relegation area for the first time this season.
Pearson will be hoping Doucoure’s form can continue in February with some tough tests coming up, starting with Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton.
Doucoure joined Watford back in 2016 and has scored 16 goals in 114 Premier League games.
