A football fanatic from Berkhamsted is over the moon after he signed a contract with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
Harry Pryke, seven, who was signed to the Under 9 team at the popular London-based club last month, has loved the sport since he was around four years old.
Born and bred in the town Harry has played for the likes of town clubs, Ross & Andy’s Soccer Camps and Berkhamsted Raiders.
Speaking to BerkhamstedNews, Harry’s dad Matthew said they are unbelievably proud of Harry who lives and breathes football.
He said: “I think he first liked football when he watched England in the world cup when he was about four.
“He’s quite determined so set himself the challenge after hearing that David Beckham had got 100 keepy-ups by the time he was six.
“He loves it, it’s all he does. It’s the first thing he does in the morning and the last thing he does at night.”
Mathew added that after his signing Harry was introduced to the crowd at the Spurs vs Leicester game on May 1 which was an amazing experience.
Ross and Andy also took to Instagram to congratulate Harry.
They said: “Harry has a real desire and willingness to improve, this was demonstrated none more so than during lockdown where he set himself a keepy up challenge which has now resulted in him being able to do over 250!! To see Harry develop and grow into a confident, intelligent 2 footed player is just brilliant and we’re so pleased for him.
“We wish Harry the very best for the future and look forward to hearing how he’s getting on as he begins he’s next footballing journey.”
