Watford Harriers Athletics Club, based at Woodside Stadium in Garston, are reflecting on a very successful track season.
In the Eastern Young Athletic League competition, which is for the age categories U13, U15 and U17, the club finished 16th. This was an improvement on last year when the club came in 17th place. Following these competitions, around 20 Watford Harriers athletes were called up to represent Hertfordshire in county competitions.
In the Southern Athletics Leagues for age categories U17 upwards, the club finished in 12th place after receiving promotion to Division 2 last year.
The club’s track season finished with their Centenary Club Championships, with around 100 athletes from U13 to veterans taking part in competitive and friendly competition.
The Harriers’ Cross Country season got off to a great start with the Abbots Tough Ten on Sunday, October 5, with the club retaining the Team Trophy for the third year.
The club also attended the first Chiltern League XC match of the season in St Albans on Saturday, October 11, where 112 club members were registered to take part.
The Harriers are now looking ahead to the 2026 track season and are inviting athletes from age seven to veterans to join. Anyone interested in joining the club please email membership@watfordharriers.org.uk
