Permission for a car wash located at Morrisons on Uxbridge Road in Hatch End has been granted after its controversial closure.
The decision was confirmed on Monday, August 4, and means the hand car wash will once again return to the corner of the car park.
Many residents commented on the application to show their support for the plans, with one saying: “The car wash was a big part of our community while we shop at Morrisons and it served the community, created local jobs, and reduced environmental impact by providing a more accessible option.”
Permission allows for the car wash to operate over nine car park spaces, with the creation of a concrete wash pad and installation of a dry valeting area.
There are conditions to the approval, which include a tree protection plan to be submitted and no music or sound allowed to be audible at the boundary of any residential premisses.
Hatch End councillor Matthew Goodwin Freeman, who supported the application, said: “Thank you to everyone who signed, shared and supported us.”
