The Compasses in Abbots has been impressing residents with its new outdoor facilities.
The pub on Tibbs Hill Road, which was forced to close in December 2020 due to lockdown restrictions, was fully prepared for its outdoor reopening on Monday, April 14.
Owner Tony Vodden and his team cleared the patio site and made a new area for 60 extra seats for outdoor dining and drinking prior to reopening.
Back in March, Tony said the pub was being “productive and innovative to bring you something special when you return to your local pub next month,” and ABBOTSnews’ editor-in-chief, Nik Allen, says the team have delivered on their promise.
Nik commented: “I visited the pub to watch an Everton FC match last month and, while the result was unsurprisingly not what I’d hoped for, the pub’s service, quality and atmosphere certainly was!
“It’s an absolute joy to see pubs like The Compasses up and running again.
“It was a long and stressful wait for pub owners and pub goers alike, but now that they’re back in business, it’s like they were never closed.”
