A Hemel Hempstead theatre group undertook a challenging 24-hour mission to create and perform an entire musical for charity.
Smash Arts Theatre Company (SATC) staged the show, attended by 400 people, on March 7.
The dedicated cast and technicians had just one day to stage the mystery production, discovering the show title only 24 hours prior.
The surprise show was the classic musical The Little Shop of Horrors.
Co-founder Dani Acors said: “The audience went mad when the curtain came up. They knew the cast didn’t know the show 24 hours before, so they really helped carry the energy.
“It’s an amazing feeling when the audience boosts the cast as the show starts.”
The one-night performance raised £21,836 for the MS Society, which supports individuals with multiple sclerosis.
Veronica Green played Audrey and personally inspired the fundraiser due to her own MS diagnosis.
Dani said: “Veronica was our headliner and having her involved made it even more special.”
