Sink hole appears in Northwood

A sinkhole appeared in Pinner Road, Northwood today, apparently the result of a drain collapse. Police were alerted to incident at 9.50am on Friday, March 28, and are still present at the scene. Witnesses have described how a hole two to three metres wide appeared in the road – there were no reports of casualties. The area remains cordoned by police as emergency repairs continue on the site, which is located between Addison Way and High Street. It is being reported that the incident has caused a backlog of traffic in Joel Street, with drivers is being diverted down Addison Way.
