Pupils from Rickmansworth School have joined over 8,000 young singers from across the country at the O2 Arena.
The school’s choir, Floral Choral Choir, sent 32 pupils to the event, called Young Voices on Tuesday, February 4. It is the largest children’s choir in the world.
For over 29 years, Young Voices has harnessed music’s power to boost well-being, mental health, self-confidence, and community spirit.
A spokesperson from the school said: “Our students have been practising diligently since October, and their dedication shone through as their voices blended harmoniously with thousands of others. The result was truly spectacular, creating an unforgettable evening for all.
“We’re immensely proud of our students’ hard work and the incredible atmosphere they helped create. Congratulations to all participants in this amazing musical celebration, and thank you to Mrs Finch, Mr Endersby, Ms Brown and Mrs Drake for accompanying the choir.”
The event was part of an eight-show run at The O2 and marked Young Voices’ 89th show at the venue since 2007.
Ben Lewis, CEO of Young Voices said: “We are incredibly proud to celebrate the pioneering support we have received from The O2, a venue synonymous with world-class performances and unforgettable experiences.”
The shows featured a guest appearance by Jacob Collier, who sang his song Little Blue with the choir. The children also sang an arranged medley of Bob Marley songs in honour of what would have been his 80th birthday.
