A Kings Langley resident has created a social media group to promote “old school” tradesmen to new customers.
The idea to create the group came from well-known village resident Bob Best, who wanted to start the group to put customers and “old school/retired tradesmen” in touch with customers for small jobs at private properties or local businesses.
Bob said: “Just because someone is knocking on a bit, doesn’t mean they can’t do a job with all their expertise in their field.”
The initiative came after Bob hired “an old bloke” for his double-glazing business. Despite having “been doing nothing for years”, Bob was impressed with his work.
Bob said: “He couldn’t have been better. He knew the old school way of doing things and he knew how to do everything.
“He is a pleasure to work with.”
