A Hemel Hempstead resident has started a petition to install speed bumps along Gadebridge Road.
Jenna Roberts wants to ensure children are safe as the area has four schools, three of which are primary schools.
She believes it is a busy road for pedestrians and vehicles, with not a lot of off road parking.
On her petition she wrote: “In the last few years there have been five – that I know of – major accidents that have happened outside my house, one of which included a car driving into my house where my young family slept.
“I believe it is only a matter of time until a pedestrian is seriously hurt. I really do not see how it is acceptable to have such a dangerous road without speed limit precautions in place.
“I would like to call upon our neighbours, local residents, parents of all four schools and anyone else it may concern to sign this petition for the council to install speed bumps on Gadebridge Road.”
