“Every Little Helps” when residents come together to share memories of a well-known supermarket.
Once standing tall on Ruislip High Street, next to the still-standing CS Bedford Jewellers, it was the affordable prices and tasty food that kept millions of customers buying their daily essentials.
Residents have now taken to Facebook after a historic photo of Tesco during the 1960s on Ruislip High Street was shared.
One resident commented: “Those wicker baskets on wheels were lethal if they caught your legs in a shop; I’ve had many encounters with them.”
Another reminisced and said: “Fantastic – would love it to be there now sadly.”
Although this particular store is no longer located in the same place, there is now a Tesco located at 124 Ruislip High Street.
