A Hemel Hempstead resident is imploring others to be more aware of the invisible disabilities after he was abused.
Thomas Ivory was parked in a disabled bay outside the Aldi near Grovehill when a woman hurled abuse at him and spat all over his window.
Thomas took to social media after the event to address the vile woman and others who share her lack of knowledge and understanding.
He said: “I just want to give you a life lesson – not all disabilities are visible. I’m entitled to park in disabled bays as I had a major op and have a stoma bag; my bag was full.
“You have no idea how hard it’s been coming to terms with having a bag and getting on with life. For someone to give me abuse and spit on my window is absolutely disgusting behaviour.
“I would like to thank the people around who witnessed the shocking behaviour and were there for me.
“I hope this so called lady goes home, has a long hard look in the mirror, and realises her actions really have an effect on people.”
