Published on: 9th February 2026   |   By: Naomi Greenaway   |   Category: Featured

Unsung heroes across the village could soon be recognised, as nominations have officially opened for the Abbots Langley Parish Council (ALPC) annual Civic Awards.

The awards celebrate individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to the community, including volunteer service, leadership, youth engagement, innovation, and community spirit.

Residents are encouraged to nominate neighbours, colleagues, mentors, or local groups whose dedication and efforts have helped strengthen the village over the past year.

Speaking to ABBOTSnews, ALPC chairman, councillor Jane Lay, said: “Every day, people in our community go above and beyond to support others, often without recognition. These awards are an opportunity to shine a light on their impact and say thank you.”

Nominations must be submitted by Saturday, February 28, to nominate someone please visit www.shorturl.at/SoFwj
