Visitors to Bushey High Street are spoilt for choice with the number of independent businesses and shops available.
Perhaps one of the first to pave the way to success, MAVIS recently celebrated a big birthday.
On Friday, March 28, the oldest shop in Bushey Village held a gathering for residents to celebrate 90 years of helping people fall in love with the art of crafting.
Current owner Sarah Waite was joined by her son Bradley, who designs and runs the shop’s website.
Special guest Mick Conquest, the son of the shop’s founder Mavis, and his son Phil chatted to customers both old and new.
Speaking to BUSHEYnews, Sarah said: “We had a very busy day, and were visited by so many people to help us celebrate – lots of tea and cake were consumed.
“We are very proud to have played a part in getting MAVIS to 90 years on Bushey High Street, and we were delighted to see so many loyal customers join us and Mick Conquest on the anniversary celebration day.”
