Former Leader of Dacorum Borough Council (DBC) and Hemel Hempstead county councillor Ron Tindall has been suspended from the Liberal Democrats amid an investigation into sexual harassment.
In September 2024, eight DBC Liberal Democrat councillors resigned the party whip after accusing then Leader councillor Adrian England of failing to deal with the allegations of bullying and sexual harassment.
Cllr England stepped down as Leader of DBC in February following the investigation. Cllr Tindall has now been suspended from the national Liberal Democrat party.
A Liberal Democrat spokesperson said: “As a result of the findings of the investigation into the Liberal Democrat Group on Dacorum Borough Council and in light of serious information and evidence found by the panel, Ron Tindall was suspended from the national party pending investigation by our independent complaints process on February 19.
“Mr Tindall has taken no part in activities pertaining to the Liberal Democrat Group on Dacorum Brough Council or Hertfordshire County Council since his suspension from the party. He is also barred from standing as a candidate while the investigation is ongoing.”
