Two pupils at Abbots Langley Primary School raised more than £250 for mental health charity MIND when they held a cake sale last month.
Harley Petrie and Sienna Crawley, who are in Year 5, came up with the idea for the sale themselves. Rebecca Negrello, headteacher, said both children put in a great deal of thought and effort to make the sale a huge success and added she was proud of them for wanting to raise money and awareness for such a great cause.
She said: “They have been coming daily to discuss how we could make this happen. They are a credit to our school! They were struck by the statistic that one in ten children in the UK suffer with mental health issues and therefore wanted to do something to help. The school community came together to bake hundreds of cakes, raising £250!”
