SALON SABOTAGE: Beauty Garden owner in Stanmore left scared after store is vandalised three times in a month

Published on: 26th August 2020   |   By: Holly Bullen   |   Category: Uncategorized

The owner of a beauty salon has been left fearing for her safety because her salon has been vandalised three times over the last month.

Suzie Singh, the owner of the Beauty Garden salon in Stanmore, has had her store windows smashed, sprayed with graffiti, and covered in paint over the past month and she is now scared and fed up.

It is unclear whether these incidents have been committed by the same person and what the motives are behind it, but Suzie is worried it is going to happen again.

The first incident occurred after the salon had just reopened and ruined the mood after the salon had celebrated their first week back.

Suzie said: “We had gone above and beyond with preparations and had the best first week of opening but on Tuesday, July 21, I got a call to say the alarm sensors had gone off.

“I was driving in thinking that a poster had just fallen off the wall. We have been there since 2007 and nothing had happened before.

“But when I arrived, there was literally glass all over the floor as all three panes of glass had been smashed.”

Suzie was left “shaken and terrified” after this first incident and looked at CCTV to try and identify the person responsible, but the CCTV camera rotation made this impossible.

The incident had caused massive disruption to the salon as a whole morning of clients had to be cancelled, but this was not the end.

A week later, the brand-new shutters, which had been put on the salon to protect the windows, were vandalised with graffiti.

The most recent incident was captured on CCTV and involved a man throwing a bucket of white paint over the shutters of the store in broad daylight.

Suzie has had enough and is fed up of feeling scared about when it is going to happen next.

She said: “I am afraid for our safety because I do feel he is going to come back. There is nothing more we can do in terms of protecting ourselves.

“We don’t know if it is racially motivated and I personally haven’t had any altercations.”

Suzie does not think it could be a rival salon because many of them are just happy to be reopen again and back on their feet.

She said: “I don’t think it is a competitor because we all just want to get on with our business after COVID.

“There are so many salons in Stanmore so why just target mine?”

Metropolitan Police said: “Police are investigating four incidents of criminal damage committed on the outside of a commercial premises at Stanmore Hill, Harrow.

“One suspect has been identified at this time, however enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Tweet @MetCC.”
