It was a shocking revelation for Radlett resident Dr. Roni, OBE, after a letter in November 2025 revealed she would be awarded with a New Year’s Honour.
By Monday, December 29, it became a reality as the official list was published to the public, something many of us can only imagine receiving.
After moving to Radlett in 2019, her skills and passion continued to shine in her career as the founder and chief executive officer of Jomas Associates Ltd, an engineering and environmental consultancy.
Serving the construction industry where only 12 per cent of the entire workforce are made up of women, with very few in top positions.
Yet despite the figures, Dr. Roni has not allowed this to be a deterrent in the slightest and encourages more young people to get involved.
Giving back to the community, and specifically to young, underrepresented people who want to create a career in construction and engineering, is most important to her.
Speaking to RADLETTnews, Dr. Roni shared her excitement: “I am still in shock, I am surprised, happy, emotional, humble, honoured, every single emotion you can think of.
“Before I moved to Radlett, I took part in construction projects near to Radlett train station as well as residential developments on Newlands Avenue.
“Working with young people and being a role model, whilst promoting engineering, construction and business is something I find rewarding.”
The first ceremonies for the 2026 honours took place on Tuesday, January 13, and Wednesday, January 14, with more expected.
