Pinner residents have featured in a recent documentary telling the story of Sir Elton John, the musical sensation who came from the streets of the town.

Delia Cazzato, her son Alex, featured in the La Story d’Elton John documentary which had a focus on the early years of Sir Elton John’s life.

The singer who is currently on his farewell Yellow Brick Road tour lived in the town until he was around 17 years old is popular amongst residents.

Speaking to PinnerNews about the experience, Delia who is a big Sir Elton John fan, said it was great to chat about his early days in the town.

She said: “When I moved to Pinner Green, I happened to live opposite where Elton lived in Pinner Hill Road, my son also went to school at Pinner Hill School where Elton briefly went to.

“The filming was a good fun experience and really exciting.”

Delia’s son Alex, who is an artist, also featured in the documentary with a special focus on his art exhibition dedicated to the musician in 2019.

Alex said: “I had conversations about my art exhibition inspired by Elton back in 2019 in celebration of the release of the Rocketman film, his autobiography and the Pinner pantomime all themed around him.

“From this, filming days were set in March with director Stéphane Basset visiting my studio space to talk about my artwork, what inspired it, my connections to Elton as a local resident of Pinner and other conversations around my artistic methods and styles.

“The day it aired I received lots of notifications across my social media platforms with one particular email catching my attention. A lady wrote she had seen me on tv last night, she really liked my artwork and wanted to buy a piece.”
