A Croxley based choir is looking forward to performing live at events in the coming months, and are on the lookout for new members to join them.
Rickmansworth Rock Choir is based at Harvey Road School in Croxley Green, where the group rehearse on Monday evenings.
Rock Choir is a national contemporary group which was started in 2005 by Caroline Redman Lusher and now has over 300 choirs across the country.
Rickmansworth Rock Choir member Amanda Macke said: “During 2020 we met via Zoom and continued to learn songs – although this was rather interesting as we obviously couldn’t hear each other due to internet lag. I’m sure we all sounded as good as Beyoncé though.
“We have been back in the room since September 2021 and our membership has grown to around 50 (although we always have room for a few more, especially men!). We performed for the first time in two years at the Rickmansworth Christmas evening in November 2021 and it was simply the most joy to hear our voices together again.
“Many of the choir have developed great friendship groups that helped them to cope during lockdown and has strengthened our relationships and made us sound better now we are reunited.”
“We are really looking forward to performing live again very soon and hope that there will be lots of events this summer where we can sing our hearts out to an actual audience instead of our families and pets.
The Rock Choir group offers a free taster session open to all residents of all abilities. For more information visit rockchoir.com
