Clarendon Road, Watford was closed due to a road crash that has led to a 60-year-old man being rushed to hospital.
The pedestrian was hit by a black Mercedes A150 around 12:37pm, with his current condition unknown.
Police and paramedics have attended the scene.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said:
“Police were called at 12.37pm today to assist the ambulance service at the scene of a collision in Clarendon Road. One vehicle – a black Mercedes A150, and a pedestrian were involved.
“The pedestrian, a man in his sixties, has been taken to hospital. Recovery has been arranged for the car. The road was temporarily closed while the incident was dealt with.
“Any witnesses should call the non-emergency number 101 quoting ISR 261 of 20 December.”
