Red carpet rolled out for Stanmore pupils

The red carpet was rolled out for Stanmore College’s Awards’ evening where students were awarded for their accomplishments by guest of honour Jon Reuben.

The entrepreneur and associate director of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club attended the evening which was celebrating the success of students who completed their studies at the college. 

The annual awards evening recognises students that had completed their studies and were moving on to university, with special awards for those who had excelled in various categories.

Award winners included Faye Halliday who is now undertaking a nursing degree at Hertfordshire University, Shivam Sakaria who has embarked on a computer science degree at Brunel University and Kerry Tiernan who had applied to do a degree in paramedic science.

The awards evening was attended by former students who are currently at university or had completed their degree. 

Michelle Remer had achieved a first class degree in working with children and young people whilst being a full time carer for her son.

Jon Reuben was alongside chair of the board of governors, John Howard. In his speech, John highlighted the major improvements that the college had undergone in the past three years.

Jon Reuben reflected on the importance of school and paid homage to everyone involved in the school for producing what he considered to be great young people.

The evening concluded with a cascade of balloons falling from the ceiling which was followed by light refreshments which gave an opportunity for everyone to mingle with teachers, pupils and guests.
