Watford’s youngest eco warriors are turning their attention to recycling as part of a competition launched by Watford Borough Council.
Children aged under 18 who attend school in Watford have been tasked with designing an A4 poster featuring a creative photo or amazing artwork, to encourage residents to recycle.
The competition is part of Recycle Week, which has now been running for 22 consecutive years. This year, it took place from Monday, September 22, to Sunday, September 28.
The annual event aims to encourage the public to recycle more of the right things more often, as statistics from Recycle Now suggest that 79 per cent of households miss one or more items from their recycling. This means that around 2.3 billion recyclable items end up in the rubbish every year.
Posters must be submitted before the deadline at 5pm on Monday, October 20. To enter, email enquiries.watford.vesuk@veolia.com
