St Albans Cathedral is delighted to welcome its latest installation, of 10,000 paper doves suspended from the Cathedral tower.
The Peace Doves installation has been sponsored by St Albans Cathedral Education Trust and St Albans BID and is by internationally renowned sculptor and artist Peter Walker.
Daisy Cooper MP visited the installation on January 9 with Rabbi Adam Zagoria-Moffet of St Albans Masorti Synagogue and Akhtar Zaman, president of the St Albans Islamic Centre, where they took questions from members of the public about their inter-faith work. The pair have been attending schools across St Albans to discuss the Israel-Gaza conflict.
The MP headed to social media where she said: “I felt very proud of our community tonight.”
The cathedral is hosting several activities in the coming weeks under the instillation, including a talk with Holocaust survivor Eva Clarke and author Wendy Holden and a performance by the OVO Theatre of Romeo and Juliet.
