Gagan Mohindra, MP for South West Hertfordshire, is supporting the campaign to open a banking hub in Abbots Langley.
As covered in the May edition of ABBOTSnews, the proposed banking hub in the Post Office would allow residents to withdraw and deposit money and have face-to-face appointments with bankers.
The last 10 years have seen the closure of both of the village’s bank branches, leaving locals struggling to access cash services.
To support the proposals, Mr Mohindra MP secured a Parliamentary debate in late June entitled ‘Access to Banking Hubs in Hertfordshire’. This will be followed by a meeting in July with representatives of the Link Scheme to discuss the Abbots Langley banking hub proposals.
Over 1,000 residents have signed the petition, which is available here: https://shorturl.at/FQxEb
