Prince and princess of the carnival parade are chosen

Published on: 21st May 2018   |   By: Tim Green   |   Category: Uncategorized

Two winners have been selected to represent their village as this year’s prince and princess of the parade at the Abbots Langley Carnival.

This year’s prince is Turhan, five, named after his daddy and grandfather. Sadly his father passed away when he was just two and a half.

It is however fitting that he has been picked at this year’s Prince of the Parade as his daddy always called him his ‘little Prince’. Turhan was delighted to be told he had been chosen as he gets to ride in a real horse and carriage.

The Princess is 10 year old Faith, who is very proud of Abbots Langley and excited to be selected, as she’s never done anything like this before.

Charlotte Baker is from the Abbots Langley Community Centre who choose the two winners.

She commented: “Once again, it was very difficult for the representatives of Abbots Langley Community Centre to select just one boy and girl from all the wonderful entrants.

To make the process as fair as possible, the top three choices are placed anonymously in a hat and one winner in the girls and boy category is then picked at random.

Thank you to all the children that applied and we hope that you will enter again next year.”
