Multiple arrests were made, drugs were recovered and several vehicles were seized as part of an operation to tackle acquisitive crime across West Hertfordshire.
The three-day operation, which ran from Tuesday to Thursday last week (February 3 to 6), saw officers from various teams carrying out increased, targeted patrols throughout the evening and early hours.
Over the three days:
- Four people were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs – £8,000 worth of drugs seized, along with a large quantity of cash.
- One person was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
- One person was arrested for immigration offences.
- One person was arrested for failing to appear at court.
- Four Community Resolutions were issued for possession of cannabis.
- 17 Stop and Searches were completed.
- A stolen vehicle was recovered.
- Six vehicles were seized and the drivers reported for having no insurance.
- A vehicle was seized for being used in crime.
- A vehicle was recovered for obstructing the highway, after it failed to stop for officers.#
- Multiple vehicles were stopped and checked.
- Intelligence was gathered.
Neighbourhood Policing Team PC Joe Geeson, who coordinated the operation, said: “The aim of the operation was to target those involved in serious and acquisitive crime, such as vehicle theft, burglary and drug supply, as we know that these kinds of offences cause concern among the community.
“Whether or not we are running a specific police operation, local teams are regularly patrolling, doing all they can to prevent crime and identify offenders.”
