‘PREPOSTEROUS’: Mayoral candidate criticised over pickpocketing incident

Published on: 12th January 2024   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Social media users have slammed Hatch End councillor and London mayoral candidate Susan Hall, after she said she was pickpocketed towards the end of last year.

In last month’s Pinnernews, it was reported that cllr Hall had been pickpocketed on a Metropolitan line train to Pinner station. She subsequently criticised Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and his lack of police funding.

However, since then, social media users have shared images of cllr Hall with her possessions sticking out of her pockets. Some have suggested she may have simply dropped her wallet and used the incident as an excuse to criticise the current Mayor.

One X user said: “This is genuinely the most preposterous story I’ve ever heard. Susan Hall has zero evidence to support her theory that she was pickpocketed. In all likelihood, she’s dropped her Oyster wallet on a seat.”

Another said: “Police reportedly looking for a pickpocket who matches the description of Newton’s law of universal gravitation.”

Cllr Hall has been contacted for comment.
