Following complaints from residents across The Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire Council (BC) has announced the actions it will be taking to combat potholes in the area.
In CHALFONTS&GERRARDSCROSSnews’ April edition, we reported that several members of the public had been in touch to complain about the issue, with some even threatening to stop paying their council tax until it was resolved.
Now, Buckinghamshire Highways has announced the rollout of a new machine, the Pothole Pro, that is set to cut the time of filling potholes. It is already used by several councils across the country.
Councillor Steven Broadbent, BC cabinet member for transport, said: “I joined the crew training on the Pothole Pro and was impressed with the potential of the machine and the speed the crew picked up the skills to operate the machine safely.
“This is just one of a number of tools we will be using to invest in and improve our roads. While the machine won’t be able to access everywhere or fix all types of defects, it has great potential as another option we can use on our road network.”
