POSTPONED BUT POSITIVE: Chiltern hills will rock at Chilfest 2021

Following the government’s announcement that lockdown easing is to be delayed by four weeks, organisers of Chilfest have risen to the challenge and undertaken the monumental task of shifting their two-day festival to new dates: July 23 and 24, 2021.

The festival has now been moved for the fourth and final time, on the backdrop of over a year of devastating impact on the events sector and supply chain.

With no financial support from the government, Chilfest director Steve Butcher is relying on the ongoing love and support his event receives from its thousands of fans.

Butcher said; “We’re always so humbled by our customers – they are so understanding and help us stay positive in the face of adversity.

“It’s been a tough year. Our entire industry is struggling, staff and crew are suffering with poor mental health and the stress has been unbelievable – but we are now more determined than ever to lay on the biggest and best Chilfest ever seen.”

Friday, July 23’s Totally Tribute sees a host of top tribute acts bringing a special ‘Kind of Magic’ to Chilfest. Music lovers will be able to ‘Come Together’ to enjoy the sounds of The Beatles, courtesy of The Bootleg Beatles, and a trip through Queen’s back catalogue with Queen One Vision.

You can also ‘definitely maybe’ enjoy the numerous hits of supernova 90s band Oasis, thanks to the tribute Noasis. And to top it all, ABBA:Revival will provide a set full of singalongs.

Saturday, July 24’s main event, Chilfest, has an eclectic mix of artists to suit the tastes of every 80s fan.

Headlining is the incredible Adam Ant, who will be standing and delivering hits such as Ant Music and Prince Charming to his loyal army of Ant fans.

Also taking to the Chilfest stage will be the ‘True’ gent himself Tony Hadley, Fine Young Cannibal Roland Gift, Imagination’s Leee John, Boney M featuring Maizie Williams, The Real Thing, Blancmange and The Christians.

A new addition to Saturday’s lineup is ska sensations Bad Manners, who will be dishing out a special brew of hits courtesy of Buster Bloodvessel and crew.

Chilfest 2021 is set to be a party like no other, as music lovers finally come together to enjoy doing what they love most, after more than a year of lockdowns.

The festival, set in the rock-and-rolling Chiltern Hills, makes a welcome return as the music industry finally comes back to life and brings to the stage a host of music legends. The event team knows all too well how difficult the past year has been, with many Chilfest crew members turning their hands to manning Covid test sites in order to do their bit for the country.

After a challenging year, what better way to spend the summer than relaxing in the English countryside while celebrating decades of fantastic music!
