Published on: 10th November 2020   |   By: Holly Bullen   |   Category: Uncategorized

A care home in Kings Langley created a wonderful tribute to all the fallen heroes we have lost to mark Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.

St Lauras Care home, located on the high street in the village, have been busy hand making poppies out of faux leather which were then used to create a wonderful poppy arch display.

Anna Iversen, who works at the care home, said the process has been a “labour of love” and everyone is happy with how it turned out.

She said: “It was a lot of hard work, but it looked so wonderful afterwards, it’s absolutely beautiful, we are over the moon.”

Anna added that in a difficult and frustrating time everyone, both staff and residents have enjoyed making the poppies.

She said: “The residents have really put their heart and soul into them and it’s a little of piece of them so we will bring it out everywhere.”

Anna also said that the arch will be repurposed depending on the season.

She said: “It will be repurposed for Christmas and the arch will be covered in stars and it will keep being changed depending on what is going on at the time.”
