Pop-Up Opera to perform in village for lifeboat charity

The renowned Pop-Up Opera will be coming to Chorleywood next month for a fun packed charity event in support of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). The well-known group will perform Rossini’s The Barber of Seville at Christ Church, Chorleywood Common on Friday, June 24. The event starts at 7pm with free welcome drinks and the promise of bringing comic opera alive as the group take to the stage with this incredibly fast-paced comical farce in their adaptation of this much loved score. They bring razor-sharp timing as the ever resourceful barber, Figaro, tries to help the young Count Almaviva win the hand of the beautiful Rosina out of love rather than for his wealth. Soon the pair set about to produce many disguises for the count, and thus the farce ensues. More free drinks in the interval, the opportunity to bring a picnic to enjoy on the common or in the grounds and free easy parking means those lucky enough to get one of the 250 tickets will certainly enjoy a fine evening.
