Hemel Hempstead star Max Whitlock claimed a European pommel horse gold medal in Poland.
The 26-year-old gymnast had topped the pommel horse standings in qualification and then went on to execute a very high difficulty routine with intricate work across the pommel and in flairs, his dismount was perfect.
Max scored an unbeatable 15.533 points to receive his second pommel gold medal.
The six-time gold medallist wanted to be at the top even more this year after he was beaten twice in 2018 at the Commonwealth Games and the World Championships.
Speaking to the BBC Sport, Max said the victory was a “huge relief”.
He said: “With last year not going fully to plan, the pressure ramped up more and more,” he said.
“I learned so much from last year and I need to start building on that, and I’m happy to prove that today.”
