Parents have expressed their frustration over the condition of a path between Rickmansworth Park and Rickmansworth Park JMI School.
A group of parents have shared several concerns about the path with RICKYnews, claiming they first raised the issue with Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) in December 2023.
These include the path’s narrow width, which makes pushing a buggy difficult, along with muddy and slippery sections. In wet weather, the path is said to disappear and become unusable.
The parents highlighted the danger the path poses to students, parents and school staff.
One said: “I can’t let my mum help with the school run because the path is too dangerous at the bottom – we cannot risk her slipping and injuring herself once again.”
Another said: “I dread using the path; it gets worse every time it rains and is now unusable.”
A TRDC spokesperson said: “The council identified some limited repairs that are required to the footpath within Rickmansworth Park following a recent inspection and is in the process of seeking quotations to have these minor potholes addressed.
“Whilst undertaking our inspection, the council also noticed some damaged and uneven paving slabs adjoining Rickmansworth Park Junior & Infant School and will be reporting these to colleagues at Hertfordshire County Council for their attention.”
